This site adjoins the Sholayar reservoir in the Sheikalmudi-Murugalli part of the Valparai plateau. A total of 17 ha has been earmarked along the reservoir and streams out of a larger area of abandoned vanilla plantation. Many rainforest species such as lion-tailed macaques, Nilgiri langurs, hornbills and trogons, and herpetofauna use the site.
As the site already had scattered tree cover, the level of weed infestation is lower making the weed removal and planting easier. Planting of around 1300 saplings belonging to 55 rainforest species was carried out in 2008. The site is being monitored and the area under restoration will be extended in the coming years
