NCF's Statement on Ladakh
Ladakh and its people have always been a source of pride for our nation. We have been partnering with the people of Ladakh to help protect the region's wildlife for more than two decades. This region, known for its breathtaking landscapes and fragile mountain ecosystems, has shown the world how human communities and nature can coexist. Generations have nurtured traditions of stewardship, resilience, and innovation in sustainable living, offering lessons that are deeply relevant for the entire country and beyond.
Today, Ladakh is going through a moment of deep pain. Despite years of peaceful demonstrations and constructive dialogue, recent protests turned tragic, with the loss of young lives and even a decorated former Army serviceman. These are sons and daughters of India whose voices deserve to be heard with dignity and compassion.
At this difficult time, it is important for us to honor the legacy of harmony, service, and visionary efforts of the people of Ladakh in alternative development and sustainability.
Ladakh is not just a frontier—it is a mirror of India’s diversity, strength, and moral conscience. As a nation, we must ensure that the concerns of the people of Ladakh are met with respect, empathy, and justice. Only then can we move forward together, in the true spirit of unity that binds us all.
