Project Assistant

The Education and Public Engagement Program at NCF is looking for a dedicated colleague (0-2 years of experience) who is experienced in engaging people with nature and birds. Your specific responsibilities will be shaped by your skills, qualifications, and areas of interest.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Managing and overseeing social media platforms and email communications.

  • Developing engaging content for bird enthusiasts, including quizzes.

  • Compiling content for and composing a monthly email newsletter.

  • Curating resources and updating a directory of bird resources on a weekly basis.

  • Assisting with a project introducing college students to nature, including email coordination and other related tasks as needed.

Eligibility and Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree, preferably in life sciences, is required. While 1-2 years experience after completing the degree is beneficial, it is not mandatory.

  • Strong knowledge of Indian birds and a demonstrable passion for birds and nature.

  • Experience and interest in managing social media accounts and creating compelling content.

  • A professional work ethic with the ability to collaborate effectively in teams.

  • Self-motivated with strong networking skills, the ability to manage emails, and the ability to plan and execute projects independently.

  • Proficiency in basic office computing tools (documents, spreadsheets, presentations) and Google apps.

Other Details:

  • We offer a fulfilling full-time role, a supportive work environment, and an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by connecting people with nature and birds. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience, ranging between ₹30,000 and ₹40,000 per month.

  • This position is based at the Nature Conservation Foundation (NCF) office in Bengaluru. Occasional travel within Bengaluru and across India may be required.

Who We Are:

At the Education and Public Engagement programme at NCF, we work towards connecting people to nature, through mass communications, outreach and learning, citizen science, and research. The specific projects this role will support include maintaining and growing an online directory of bird resources for audiences of varying levels of nature engagement; putting together a monthly newsletter and an initiative to engage students and teachers with biodiversity in higher education campuses.
