Project Manager, Strategic Priorities

The manager will support NCF’s institutional strategic priorities and contribute to their development and implementation while collaborating closely with all programme heads. This position will assist in the implementation of various priority objectives and their activities, including review of project proposals, grants management plans, preparation and delivery of reports, and communicating with donors. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Development

  • Assist in refining the concept notes of potential projects as per the identified strategic priorities.

  • Collaborate with the programme heads to frame objectives, activities and indicators during the project planning stage. 

  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of strategic priorities, including the collection of data required for reporting on the progress of the project.

  • Prepare summary documents, presentations, and other strategy support documents to share internally and externally.

  • Coordinate and communicate strategic projects’ development across programmes. 

  • Work with the administration team to support budgetary requirements and financial oversight related to strategic priorities, ensuring required resources are identified and made available.

  • Provide other project development support as needed.

Implementation

  • Coordinate the implementation of strategic priorities in collaboration with programme leads.

  • Prepare project progress reports and annual work plans to track progress against key strategic goals and deliverables. 

  • Support institutional safeguard processes through identification of potential risks associated with projects and strategic priorities. 

  • Regularly track project processes and maintain communication with programme leads. 

  • Ensure all strategic activities and outcomes are well-documented, including lessons learned and best practices as a part of reporting and documentation.

  • Act as a liaison between programmes to ensure alignment and collaboration on key priorities. 

  • Coordinate with the donors to ensure progress and results are communicated clearly and on time. 

  • Organise and participate in regular project meetings, providing technical feedback aligned with NCF priorities and organisational policies. 

  • Provide other project implementation support as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelors with 5 years of relevant experience, or Masters with 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong organizational skills. 

  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects, especially within non-profit organisations or similar sectors.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively. 

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others from a variety of disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds.

  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is required for effective communication with internal and external audiences. Knowledge of additional local languages is preferred.

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of wide-ranging responsibilities.

  • Strong computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office package and web researching skills, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred

  • Passionate about environmental and wildlife conservation issues.

  • Experience in project planning, monitoring and reporting.

  • Experience working effectively with diverse teams.

  • Familiarity with donor relations, including experience in preparing reports and maintaining effective communication with external agencies.

  • An understanding of the non-profit landscape, strategic priorities relevant to institutional goals, and experience working with similar organisations.

This is a full time position based at the Nature Conservation Foundation, North Bengaluru office, with some travel if needed.
