Dollar Ganguly

Researcher, Nature-Mates, Eastern Himalaya

I am Dollar Ganguly from Kolkata in West Bengal. I completed my schooling from Jadavpur Vidyapith and graduated in Zoology from Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College. Since my college days bird-watching has become my hobby as it was a part of our curriculum. I completed Master’s in Zoology from Gurudas College, under the University of Calcutta. My dissertation was from West Bengal State University on nectar feeding bird community on Butea monosperma helping in Pollination and their behaviours. During my dissertation I got the opportunity to experience the plant-bird mutualistic interaction and other behaviour of different birds, in the dry deciduous forests of Buxa Tiger Reserve at Alipurduar and Chhachanpur, a remote village at Bankura district in West Bengal. Currently, I am working on the Hornbill project at Buxa Tiger Reserve which is a collaboration of Nature Mates- Nature Club, Kolkata and Nature Conservation Foundation. Apart from these I love playing and watching football.
