Research Assistant, High Altitudes

I am a researcher with a multidisciplinary background. While completing my bachelor's in Psychology, English Literature, and Communication Studies, I began volunteering with Animal NGOs and wildlife rescue centers, but I quickly found myself veering towards the fields of research and conservation. Therefore I pursued a master's in Conservation and Biodiversity, which led me to Kenya to understand the complex relationships between the Maasai people and African lions. My thesis compared biodiversity between natural and planted mangroves in the Philippines. My experiences fuelled a deep curiosity to unravel complex relationships between people and wildlife. I believe India’s incredibly rich cultural and biological heritage are inextricably intertwined, and any meaningful conservation intervention would need robust interdisciplinary research. I hope to understand human-wildlife interactions through the lenses of ethnography and ecology.
