I come from Damro, the ancestral homeland of the Adi Padam community. We united in
Damro after a long migration and formed a congregation of villages based on different clans. Damro is situated in Arunachal Pradesh's Upper Siang District, where the mighty Siang River flows through mountain valleys and lush green tropical forests. I have shared my home with both nature and humans; and since I was a child, I had a great attachment to the Mithun (Bos frontalis). My mother now tells me that I often carried Tali, a bag made of bamboo, and Eyok, a machete, in order to accompany my father into our forest to look for Mithun. I am still fond of looking out for my Mithun into the deep canopied forest. Nature has contributed so
much and it's our responsibility to respect nature’s contribution.
