MSc. in Marine Biological Resources (Applied Ecology and Conservation)

Even though I was raised in the concrete jungle of the Bangalore city I was always drawn to the actual jungle because of all the documentaries I watched on Discovery and especially the ones with Steve Irwin. But this little obsession took me far beyond the city limits and took me to Goa where I first interned on the Olive Ridley turtles. My passion for the deep blue deepened from there, so much that I wanted to do a Master's in Marine Biological Resources. Since then, I have worked with dolphins and whales across different seas, countries and a few time zones. Right now, I’m working on understanding the impacts of vessel traffic and noise on dugong habitat use in the Andaman islands. My topics of interest are marine mammal research, marine protected areas, anthropogenic impacts, climate change and science communication.
