Project Coordinator, Education and Public Engagement
My journey into the world of birds began in 2015 at the Okhla Bird Sanctuary where I first saw the Red Avadavat. I had never before seen such a beautiful living creature. It looked like a meticulously crafted little wooden toy but there it was, full of life - hopping around, eating and flying! Birding started as a meditative weekend ritual and soon blossomed into a passionate pursuit. I read books and did courses on bird behavior and bird biology. I learnt from seasoned birders in birding groups, led birdwalks and also volunteered in local habitat conservation efforts and nature education programs.
After a decade of varied corporate roles from Software Programming to Human Resources, I decided to follow my passion by taking a full time role with NCF on projects which inspire children to appreciate birds.
