PhD Student, School for Science and Conservation

I am a Doctoral Fellow at NCF, interested in the ecology of carnivores and the ways people share space with them. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, an MSc in Wildlife Science from Amity University, and a PG Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS from IIRS–ISRO. Over the years, I have worked with WWF-India, the Wildlife Trust of India, and Amity University as a Project Officer, Field Officer, and Research Biologist respectively, on projects ranging from assessing corridor functionality in central India to studying small wild cats in the northeast India, human-wolf interactions in eastern India, and analyzing data on caracals from western India. I find joy in the process of co-learning and through my work and memberships with IUCN WCPA and SCB, I have often collaborated with national and international researchers. In gist, my work brings me to the interface of people and wildlife, where I enjoy exploring how science and local knowledge can come together for conservation. Outside of research, you’ll either find me sketching, making music, or perhaps not find me at all, because I’m out on a hike.
