I am Chamba Wangmo, from Tirith, a small village in Nubra Valley, Ladakh. I am a Ph.D. scholar and my work is on distribution, feeding ecology, and human–carnivore interactions of carnivores in Nubra Valley, with a focus on sympatric species such as the snow leopard, Tibetan wolf, and red fox. My broader research interests lie in carnivore ecology and conservation. While my current work focuses on these species, I am equally interested in understanding other carnivores of the region, including those that are less studied in Ladakh, Trans-Himalayan ecosystems. Growing up close to the mountains has shaped my connection with nature, and I enjoy spending time in the mountains, hiking and exploring remote wild landscapes.
