JRF position for Long Term Ecological Observatories programme

The Nature Conservation Foundation’s Oceans and Coasts Programme is hiring. We are on the lookout for a researcher to help implement seagrass research and monitoring activities within the Long Term Ecological Observatories (LTEO) project in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The candidate will be expected to spend several months at a time in the Andaman Islands and must possess excellent field skills. The essential qualifications for this position are:

-A Masters degree in Wildlife Science or Ecology

-PADI open water diver or equivalent certification

-Demonstrated knowledge of tropical seagrass taxonomy and ecology. Candidates with prior field experience in seagrass systems would be preferred.

-Demonstrated skills in experimental design, conducting field studies and quantitative techniques

-Proficiency in scientific writing

In addition, fluency in spoken Hindi would be preferred.

Remuneration as per Department of Science and Technology norms and dependent on qualifications.
