thelakshadweep.com is an online digital repository of authentic, community-centred digital repository that documents the natural, historical, and changing social life of Lakshadweep in all its environments. We are planning to do several soft launches as part of the Khayal Festival. The platform will bring together research-based narratives, visual stories, and creative contributions from islanders, ensuring that local voices, perspectives, and lived experiences remain at the core of the storytelling.
The website will function as a growing archive of knowledge, grounded in ecology, history, culture, and everyday practices, while also offering space for art, reflections, and creative expressions from the islands. By prioritising accuracy, community participation, and ethical representation, TheLakshadweep.com aims to become a credible and trusted source of information, presenting Lakshadweep through narratives shaped from within the islands rather than external viewpoints.
