Research Assistant – Conservation Capacity Development

The Research Assistant will work with the School for Science and Conservation to support ongoing efforts to develop a conservation capacity development action plan towards strengthening conservation capacity nationwide.

 

Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will contribute to the development of a national conservation capacity-building action plan by:

●      Surveying and reviewing existing conservation training initiatives in India. 

●      Coordinating consultations and meetings with relevant stakeholders. 

●      Support the identification of opportunities in improving accessibility and delivery of conservation training.

●      Drafting and finalising a conservation capacity development action plan.

Qualifications

●      Master’s degree in Biodiversity Conservation/Social Sciences or related fields with more than two years of relevant experience.

●      Strong research and coordination skills and ability to work independently and proactively. 

●      Prior experience in conducting reviews, surveys, stakeholder engagement and interdisciplinary conservation issues is highly desirable.

●      Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others from a variety of disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds.

●      Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is required for effective communication with internal and external audiences. Knowledge of additional local languages will be beneficial.

●      An interest in capacity building, training, or conservation practice in India. 

Remuneration: Rs 25000-45000; commensurate with experience and qualifications, in line with our internal policy.
