The Bird Alliance is a nationwide collective working towards one shared vision: a society where birds and nature thrive alongside people. It hosts a growing directory to help you find information related to birds and birding in India with carefully curated links from across the web, organised for easy browsing. Whether you are someone getting introduced to birds, an educator seeking material, a birder looking for opportunities, or a researcher searching for resources, the directory brings everything together in one place. 

The Alliance works towards three broad goals:
Appreciation – nurturing public interest, awareness, and care for birds;
Understanding – supporting research that helps diagnose problems and find solutions;
Conservation – encouraging actions that protect and revive the natural world.

In its first phase, the Bird Alliance is building an open, evolving directory of resources—organisations, experts, projects, events, and learning materials—to help people discover opportunities, seek support, and collaborate more easily. Over time, the platform will grow to serve diverse audiences: students, researchers, educators, birdwatchers, and decision-makers.

The Alliance is the product of collective work done by a broad and diverse Steering Group and powered by the goodwill and expertise of India’s bird community.
