Project Coordinator, High Altitude Programme

We're seeking a driven and enthusiastic project coordinator to lead our conservation efforts in Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. As the project coordinator, you will play a key role in planning, executing, and monitoring field activities, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring the successful achievement of project goals. You will also get an opportunity to closely work with local conservationists and researchers and understand their cultural and traditional systems embedded in conservation of natural resources.

Location:

Bangalore-based, with field trips to Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate aspects of project planning, implementation, and evaluation in close collaboration with project partners, stakeholders, and team members.

  2. Facilitate community engagement and participation in project activities, including organising meetings, workshops, and training sessions with local stakeholders.

  3. Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting activities, ensuring that monitoring and evaluation data are collected accurately and used to inform project decision-making.

  4. Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, research institutions, and other partners to coordinate joint initiatives, share information, and leverage resources for maximum impact.

  5. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing conservation activities.

  6. Contribute to the dissemination of project results and lessons learned through publications, presentations, and other communication channels.

Qualifications:

- Master's degree in social science, environmental science, or a related field.

- 1-3 years of experience as project coordinator is desirable but not necessary.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, NGOs, and donors.

- Willingness to work in cross-cultural environments

- Ability to make decisions, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.

- Willingness to travel frequently and work in remote mountain environments under challenging conditions.

- Passion for conservation and working with people.

Remuneration:

INR 32,000 to 40,000 (based on qualifications and prior experience)
