Project Assistant, Research and Restoration

Seeking a person who will be in charge of ecological restoration and biodiversity conservation in the Nilgiris.

Role and responsibilities

  • Ecological restoration planning, implementation and management

  • Restoration and biodiversity monitoring and data collection, analysis and reporting

  • Managing native plant nurseries

Essential qualifications 

  • Graduate in forestry, ecology, life sciences or experience and deep interest in the above subjects

  • Strong capacity in field botany and plant identification

  • Good social communication and leadership skills

  • Proficiency in English and Tamil

  • Ability to use software such as QGIS for mapping and R software for data analysis

Accommodation will be provided and remuneration will be in accordance to experience and skills. The project is located close to Coonoor, Nilgiris.  This project is managed and led by the Nature Conservation Foundation.
